About Maitlyn

Maitlyn Fletcher is a bold creative force who brings poignant queer stories and imagery to life through a playful, heightened visual style. As a lesbian filmmaker on the autism spectrum, she is passionate about expanding queer and neurodivergent representation both on and off screen. Drawing inspiration from retro horror, camp, animation, and unconventional comedy, Maitlyn’s work blends humor and emotional honesty with an unmistakable point of view. Her creative work has been featured in publications including Digital Journal and Medium.

Outside of filmmaking, Maitlyn is an educator and restaurateur. She serves as Creative Director and President of Dear Neighbor Handrolls, a Los Angeles-based food truck and catering company with a residency at Smorgasburg, Los Angeles. Alongside her work with Dear Neighbor, Maitlyn is pursuing her interests in education, with the goal of using her creative and academic background to support children across Los Angeles, particularly neurodivergent students.
