Root & Fruit Productions: a sketch comedy, film, and web series collective for the queer, the loud, and hopefully others. Maitlyn founded this company in 2024, during her senior year at Sarah Lawrence College. Under this company, she has produced multiple projects. Root & Fruit aims to platform narratives crafted by underrepresented groups.

Mounting Rushmore (2026)

On a trip to Mount Rushmore, a teenage girl's plan to lose her virginity is complicated by her lust for her boyfriend's sister and her boyfriend's recently realized George Washington fetish. This tale serves as an exaggerated and fun portrayal of realizing your sexuality as a closeted queer teen. This is a mixed-media, comedic short-film: both live action and 2D animation are utilized.

Starring Alina Foley, Daniel Baesler, Maisie Firek, Edward Fletcher, and Spencer Lincoln with a cameo by Dave Foley (Canadian comedy legend and executive producer on the film).

Call Me Mother (2025)

After a Benadryl-induced prophetic nightmare, a lesbian puppeteering student starts to believe she is the next Virgin Mary and must perform an elaborate puppet show to spread the word of the Lord to her peers. A queer comedy short-film currently available to watch on Root & Fruit’s YouTube channel.
